Napoleon III style rope and tassel carved chair and ottoman made in Italy. Item features a solid carved wood barrel back frame, gold finish. Upholstered in leopard print, this seat is perched atop hearty knots of rope and evokes the true definition of royalty. Ottoman is included. The illusion of twisted and knotted rope is often associated with the work of the Parisian upholsterer A. M. E. Fournier, who worked at the Boulevard Beaumarchais, from 1850 onwards. Fournier was famed for his exceptional upholstered pieces.
